Board parents introduce 20-50 fundraiser December
1, 2003 Dear
Parents: Education
budget cuts are filling the news and have impacted virtually every school in
Oregon. The Community Schoolhouse is no exception, leaving
school administrators and staff trying to do more with less funding.
In a small school setting, even a slight loss of resources can have major
impacts such as shortened school years, decreases in staffing and fewer
opportunities for students. Parent
representatives of the Community Schoolhouse Board of Directors are
intent on taking proactive steps to lessen the impact of funding reductions and
to maintain the existing quality education experience.
To that end, parent board representatives Louisa Silva, Brad Bingenheimer
and Barbara Kauss announce the "20-50" fundraiser. The
20-50 fundraiser recognizes that many parents have busy schedules and limited
resources to contribute to ongoing and labor intensive fundraising efforts.
The 20-50 fundraiser seeks 50 parents, relatives or friends of the school
that are willing to step forward and pledge $20 a month to support school
operations. An individual
contribution of $20 a month is a small amount, but combined together will go
towards maintaining the quality and innovative education students receive at the
Community Schoolhouse. Those
wishing to participate should call the Community Schoolhouse and sign up
for the 20-50 list. The
Board of Directors encourages parents to participate in the success of the
school by joining the 20-50 Club. It is essential to let the students and
teachers know how important their efforts are and that we are proud of the
school’s accomplishments. Sincerely, Louisa
Silva, Brad Bingenheimer & Barbara Kauss Representatives,
Community Schoolhouse Board of Directors
