What is The Community Schoolhouse? The 21st Century Community Schoolhouse is public charter high school serving students in the Salem-Keizer community of Oregon. It is located on the second floor of the Crystal Garden Building in downtown Salem on the corner of Liberty and Ferry streets.
The school features an integrated, interactive and engaging thematic curriculum based on Oregon's state standards and Salem-Keizer Public Schools' graduation requirements. Units of study allow students to master knowledge and skills while working towards their high school diploma in a unique and personalized learning environment. Students participating in The Community Schoolhouse program are directly connected to their local and global community. They gain important 21st century skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, use of technology, teamwork, leadership, and second language skills. This is all achieved while building self-confidence, connections and lasting friendships. The Community Schoolhouse is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and Universities. |
