Schoolhouse students participate in Adopt-A-Block On
Thursday May 31, students working on an international environmental project for The
Community Schoolhouse volunteered their
time to participate in the Salem Downtown Association’s Adopt-A-Block program.
The program encourages members of the community to spruce up city blocks
throughout downtown.
The students worked to clear a one-block area across from Courthouse Square in downtown Salem. They picked up litter, pulled weeds, spread potting soil around plants and swept sidewalks outside of local businesses.
The participating students are required to complete local action projects or community service projects as part of their involvement in the International Schoolhouse.
