Famous
Immigrant Life Story
1
to 2 people per group
After reading the The
Myth of the Melting Pot series from the Washington
Post, participating in class discussions and reviewing information related
to your assigned immigrant theme or experience, complete the following:
Select a person that reflects your assigned immigrant theme
or experience and write a 3-4 page paper (12 pt. font size, 1.5 spacing) that
covers the following:
1)
Reason(s) for leaving their native land.
2)
Problems of adjustment upon arriving to the United States.
3)
Contributions that the person made to our society or culture.
For example: Inventions
& Technology; Ideas and Beliefs;
Art, Music,
Literature, Sport; etc.
4)
A visual that depicts the person, their life, and/or their contribution.
