Cultural Cookbook (1 person per group) After reading The Myth of the Melting Pot
series from the Washington Post and participating in class discussions,
complete the following: As immigrants from all over came to America, each group of
people brought their own recipes, foods, and ways of cooking, which were typical
of their culture. Many of these
foods and recipes have been integrated completely into today’s American
cuisine. Create a cookbook that highlights some of the recipes of
the foods that have been brought to America from your group’s country of
origin. Include pictures and
cooking tips along with the recipes. Cookbook
must contain a minimum of 2 dishes from each dish category:
Appetizers, Salads, Main Dishes, Side Dishes, Deserts, and Beverages. You may want to present a sample of one or more of the recipes during the final celebration day.
