Barbara has been employed at the Salem Housing Authority for six and ½ years. She is certified as a Public Housing Manager and a Housing Counselor. Barbara recently accepted this position after serving as the Authority's Housing Grants Coordinator for more than five years. Prior to coming to Salem Housing Authority, Barbara was employed as the Resident Initiatives Coordinator at the Housing Authority and Community Services Agency of Lane County. Barbara graduated from Linfield College in 1982, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts with a major in communication and a minor in political science. She has taken over 500 hours of courses from the American Red Cross in Disaster Services, Service to Military Families and Management. She is qualified as a national disaster response volunteer, a disaster services trainer, an emergency caseworker and a Station Chairman. Prior to working at the American Red Cross, Barbara was employed in the lending industry. Barbara has two children attending the Community Schoolhouse.
