The Community Learning Lab The Community Learning Lab project provides Salem's homeless community and other displaced workers with an educational resource for learning and utilizing technology, allowing for the acquisition of marketable job skills. The Lab also serves as a math/technology center for Community Schoolhouse high school students and provides career development and education in human services. Nine student “Teen Teachers” are working together with teachers Andrew Goldstein and Molly Kellar to establish an implement the Community Learning Lab. Their goal: create an educational program to teach job skills such as word processing, creating spreadsheets, and Web page development. The project, funded in part through a generous grant from Meyer Memorial Trust, involves partnerships with Northwest Human Services (HOST Youth and Family Program and Homeless Outreach and Advocacy Project) and Home Youth and Resource Center.
