The Bridge Program

The Community Schoolhouse has established the Bridge Program for severely credit-deficient juniors and seniors. The program accelerates opportunities to earn credit toward graduation in three ways:

  • Direct instruction by teams of teachers that rotate through each week.

  • Self-paced online coursework.

  • Participation in a work experience and/or mentorship program.

With a strong and consistent effort, Bridge students can earn more credit than what the school can offer in the existing instructional program. In the morning, Bridge students will earn work experience and/or mentorship credit. Each afternoon they will come to school to work on a specific integrated unit of study taught by a Community Schoolhouse teaching team (see schedule below).  Students are supervised and supported in the Bridge program by the teaching teams, instructional assistants, and advisor, a counselor, and Community Schoolhouse coordinators.
