Students
assist reading project at Lamb Elementary
 On Monday March 3, Community
Schoolhouse students Scott Cripps, Aundrey Contreras, Kirsten Fritz, Mary
Velasquez, Valerie Bridwell, A.J. Newcombe and Laney Stephens
traveled to Lamb Elementary School in East Salem to participate in the Cat in
the Hat Read Across America program.
The students were
assigned to various classrooms and were charged with reading to younger students,
as well as listening to stories read by the children.
Yvonne Medrano, volunteer coordinator for Lamb School, reported that the
efforts of the Community Schoolhouse students were much appreciated.
Medrano said she hopes the Community Schoolhouse students return
to volunteer in her school again and that "their efforts and enthusiasm for
working with younger students were excellent."
