Sanchez, Youth Services Assistant

George Sanchez is the Youth Services Assistant at The 21st
Century Community Schoolhouse. He
is not your regular Youth Services Assistant; he brings a wide variety of experience to
the Schoolhouse, which includes eight years with Salem-Keizer School
District. In those eight years
George has been a migrant tutor, campus monitor, Newcomer Center bilingual
instructional assistant, regular classroom bilingual instructional assistant,
and finally his present position as Youth Services Assistant at The Community
Schoolhouse.
George has
worked with all age groups in many schools in the Salem-Keizer School District.
In addition, George served as vice chairperson of the board in the Mt.
Angel Youth Commission. He also
coached football at Kennedy High in Mt. Angel.
It is easy to see that George truly enjoys
working with youth. His belief is that intervention, guidance, and education are
key elements in assuring youth success and assuring that youth become productive
and model citizens in our community.
