Tour of Downtown/ Silent and Celebrity Auction

Community Schoolhouse Fundraiser

May 7, 2003

(6 - 9 p.m., Reed Opera House Ballroom)

The Parent Booster Club and Board of Directors of the 21st Century Community Schoolhouse announce the First Annual Tour of Downtown Silent and Celebrity Auction on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Reed Opera House Ballroom (189 Liberty St.).  The event will feature baskets of donated items and gift certificates for auction.  Also featured will be a celebrity bid-off where local leaders and businesses will compete for the honor of Schoolhouse Hero in their respective category (Law Enforcement, Politicians, Education, Business Categories, etc.).  Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Community Schoolhouse.

Representatives of the school's Board of Directors, Parent Booster Club, students, staff and interested citizens are seeking donations of items for theme baskets, business-sponsored theme baskets, and competitive celebrity theme baskets.  (Challenge your competitor with a theme basket and be in the celebrity bid-off!)

Ideas for theme baskets and donations include a garden basket, a car care basket, theater and movie passes, gift items, gift certificates, donated services, etc.

Funds raised from the Tour of Downtown Silent and Celebrity Auction will benefit the 21st Century Community Schoolhouse.  The Schoolhouse serves 150 students in grades 9-12 and focuses on technology and progressive learning.  The school boasts a caring learning environment, an extensive waiting list of applicants, and the lowest high school dropout rate in Salem-Keizer School District.  Students thrive in this urban school setting.

The Tour of Downtown Silent and Celebrity Auction will be held Wednesday, May 7th (2003) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  For more information regarding the Tour of Downtown Silent Auction please call Tami Bingenheimer at (503) 378-9053 or Barbara Kauss at (503) 361-7943.  For confirmation of this as a sanctioned school activity, please call the Community Schoolhouse at 503-763-8958.
