Baseball
The History and Physics of Our National Pastime

Introduction:
Baseball has been an important part of America’s pastime for over 150 years.
While baseball has influenced many political, economic and social changes within
American society, the game and its strategies have been significantly influenced
by the knowledge of science, math and technology. In Science in Society, you
will have the opportunity to study American History and Physics through the lens
of baseball. By participating in this course, you will complete activities and
assignments that will enhance both your social studies and scientific knowledge
and at the same time learn why Walt Whitman said, "The game of ball is
glorious."
