The sixth annual Down by the Riverside occurred on Saturday, May 19, 2001 at Wallace Marine Park. Black berry vines that were encroaching on the wetland area were cut back and over 10 bags of trash were removed from Wallace Marine Park.
Volunteers included Brad Nanke, and staff from Mitsubishi Silcon America, teachers Ryan Kinnett and Joe James, who brought 7 students from The Community Schoolhouse, as well as other volunteers who enjoy the park, Many thanks are extended to everyone who worked so hard to make Wallace Marine Park a nicer place to visit.
Down by the Riverside is sponsored by SOLV (Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism) and is a river enhancement, cleanup and appreciation day.
