Lyle Elementary School teacher Charlotte Riester commented that the Community Schoolhouse students did a great job with her kindergarten class and would like to expand this activity next year. "Several parents and staff commented on what a nice job you did today," said Riester. "They really appreciated your work. Thanks again - you are wonderful and did a fantastic job!"

Several of The Community Schoolhouse students participating in the activity currently have mentorships working with elementary students throughout the Salem-Keizer community. The service learning project with Lyle Elementary was an extension of the students'  work experience with young children.
