A National Heirloom

---Babe Ruth, 1927

Directions:

Complete the following task and questions based on the Critical Thinking requirements outlined on the portfolio assignment direction sheet:

  1. Complete a timeline for the years 1920-1930 based on the Timeline Layout requirements. (See portfolio assignment directions sheet).
  2. After learning about Babe Ruth, browse the Babe Ruth timeline at:

http://history1900s.about.com/cs/ruthbabe/

On the website click on Babe Ruth Museum: Biography and click on enter timeline. Review Ruth’s life by clicking on and reading all the links on the timeline. After reviewing the timeline, write a one-page Babe Ruth Biography. In the biography explain why Ruth is considered a National Heirloom. Make sure you include a picture of Babe Ruth.

3) After reviewing your timeline, select what you consider to be the most important historical event of the decade (1920-1930). Provide at least two reasons for your selection. For each reason, write a one-paragraph explanation. Include a picture that represents your selected event.
