While Hitler used elimination of
“imperfect” people to establish a master race, the scientific research of
the Eugenics Movement of the same era promoted “better people” through
genetics and selective breeding. Although
Eugenic research and practices could lead to positive medical advances based on
understanding heredity, some believe it to be morally wrong.
Should government ban Eugenic research because leaders, such as Hitler,
could use the knowledge to promote racial classification, separation and racist
ideology? Explain your point of
view and provide examples.
