Poster Presentation
The poster presentation is a sequence of visuals used to show the complete
service experience your group completed – from before, during and after the
actual event. You will be making three corresponding poster boards
(or a very large one with three sections): (1) Before the event, (2) During the
event, (3) At the conclusion of and/or after the event.
Overall Requirements - Visuals must be enhanced with writing (typed or
stenciled) to communicate the following:
- Define your targeted group (for service activity) and why you selected to
inspire this group.
- The relationship between "inspiration" and your group’s service project
activity with a description of how the group’s service project may have
impacted (or inspired) the targeted group.
Requirements for EACH poster:
- Use a large poster or display board (2’ x 3’ or bigger) for the
background. Your audience must easily be able to see the poster presentation.
- Sequential, visual documentation of the project must include appropriate
and well-placed graphics to make essential points.
- Include at least 15-20 photos or visuals.
- All visuals must have an appropriate title and caption (sentence or two
explaining the visual) that is typed or stenciled (not handwritten).
In addition: (to be completed and handed in individually)
Each group member must develop a reflection paper that details the process
and how you feel about the process and outcomes of this service project (this
is NOT a part of the poster board and will be turned in separately).
- Provide an explanation that details your planning of this service project.
- What worked well, what didn’t?
- How did your group handle conflict?
- How was it working with your group members?
- If you could it over again, what would you do differently
- Reflect on the service experience itself.
- What was the overall experience like?
- How you felt before, during and after completing the service?
- Do you think what you did made a difference in someone’s life? Why or
why not?
